UK specialist engineering group Hayward Tyler acquires UK steam turbine manufacturer Peter Brotherhood
Sempora has provided market and commercial due diligence in support of Hayward Tyler Group plc’s acquisition of the trade and assets of the Peter Brotherhood business. The $15m acquisition, from Dresser Rand Company Ltd, a Siemens group business, was announced on 12 October and completed at the start of this month.
Peter Brotherhood is a long established UK engineering business specialising in steam turbines, reciprocating gas compressors and combined heat and power units for the power generation, oil and gas and marine markets. Hayward Tyler is a market leader in the design, manufacture and servicing of performance-critical motors and pumps used in harsh environments.
The acquisition involves two businesses with long and distinguished histories: the Peter Brotherhood business has been operating for nearly 150 years, whilst this year its new parent itself celebrates its 200th anniversary. “The new parent plans to run it as a separate stand-alone entity and revive the brand in much the same way the Hayward Tyler brand has been successfully reinvigorated in recent years”.
